The Easter holidays are here! Two weeks off school for the kids and, hopefully, at least the bank holidays off for the adults. Here at Anar Kali we know the challenges of keeping everyone happy. So, we thought we’d share a few ideas to help keep all ages entertained. Just remember to finish off your day with a meal at your favourite Indian restaurant.

Anar Kali in Haslingden

We are nestled away in the countryside of Haslingden, Rossendale in East Lancashire. Close to the A56, M65 & M66, we are accessible for Blackburn, Burnley, Bury, Darwen, Ramsbottom and throughout our beautiful Rossendale Valley. If you need directions, you can find them here on Google Maps


The area will be decorated with an Easter theme to give an extra magic feel. Our menu aims to cater for all tastes. Meaning whether you’re in the mood for a Chilli Explosion or Chicken Nuggets and chips, they are waiting to be freshly cooked. In addition, our friendly, helpful staff are always on hand to answer any questions.

All ages are welcome at our restaurant including younger children.

Bacup Easter Festival

On Easter Sunday, be part of the crowd as people from all over the world converge on Bacup for their annual Easter festival. Part of the attractions include the long standing traditional Britannia Coconutter’s Boundary Dance in Bacup town centre. Different activities will be taking place at various locations in the town. Mrs Ibbitt’s will be running an Easter bonnet competition along with a table top sale. The Bacup Royal Court Theare will host craft stales, tours, and a coffee bar. The local Libaray and Methodist church will also be hatching a lot of activities.

Activities in Haslingden

If you need any other idea check out this link for more activities to do with children of all ages. Including Grip and Go, an indoor climbing centre for 4 – 18 years old where adults can choice to join in the fun or sit back and watch from the comfort of the cafe.

Soft play areas, winter sports centre and an art garden are also on offer.


An Eggcellent Easter event is available at Haslingden Library on Tuesday 11th April for children aged 4-11 year old.

Darwen Puppet Theatre

Slightly further away in Darwen we have the Norwich Puppet Theatre performing The Tinderbox on the 19th April. This classic tail from Hans Christian (author of “The Snow Queen” and “The Little Mermaid) is a story of rags to riches and back again. When a solder is given a gift of a magic tinderbox which gives him control over 3 magic dogs he attention turn to the beautiful princess.
